Service Event - New York City

Please join fellow alumni from the New York City chapter and alumni from the Long Island chapter in setting aside a few hours to give back to the communities that have served us so well. For our service event we will help with clean up in a small part of Caumsett State Park. Working with the Caumsett Foundation, we will meet at 9:00 am on Saturday, April 12 at Caumsett State Park in Lloyd Harbor, and work until about 12:30 pm. The park entrance fee is waived for all volunteers.

We will be working in the Walled Garden doing some light spring clean-up. The Caumsett Foundation will provide us with all of the gardening tools and all they ask is that we provide the people power. For our work, they will graciously provide us with a free lunch from the Renaissance Gourmet Shop in Huntington. Feel free to bring friends and family and make it a day of fun!

Caumsett comprises approximately 1,500 acres that reach from Long Island Sound across Lloyd Neck to Lloyd Harbor. It includes open meadows, forests, paved roads and dirt paths for walking, hiking and biking, salt marshes, a fresh water pond and the Marshall Field mansion and outbuildings. In addition, there are over three miles of beach along the Long Island Sound. The beautiful cliffs along the water and the forest lined meadows provide the perfect environment for a large variety of animals and plants. It is a very popular place for people of all ages!

If you haven’t been to Caumsett yet, this is a wonderful and beautiful place to get to know. If you are interested in joining us on April 12 at Caumsett State Park, please contact:
