Center for Liberal Arts
Taking Learning Beyond the Classroom
The Center for Liberal Arts is the co-curricular arm of Clarkson's humanities and humanistic social science major and minor programs and courses. Its mission is to extend students' education beyond the classroom by sponsoring a variety of co-curricular programs. Since the Center's creation in 1981, it has sponsored art exhibits, films, speakers, symposia, scholars in residence, and study trips. The Center's core funding has been supplemented over the years by grants from the Mellon Foundation, the GTE Foundation, the Exxon Foundation, the Zenith Corporation, and the Lila Wallace-Reader's Digest Fund.
